Coil Nails Jamming & Breaking?
Causes and Solutions
Nail jamming and breaking greatly reduce production efficiency during mass operation. Most problems are related to nails, matching and operation, not just nail guns.
Nail Jamming
- Mismatched angle: This is the main cause. 21° nailers must work with 21° coil nails, and 16° equipment matches 16° nails. Never mix different angles.
- Poor workmanship: Nails with messy arrangement and burrs will get stuck in the channel. Choose well-made products with neat arrangement.
- Lack of maintenance: Dust and oil inside nail guns will block feeding. Clean and maintain your equipment regularly.
Broken & Bent Nails
- Inferior material: Nails made of recycled steel have poor toughness and break easily. Select products made of standard carbon steel.
- Wrong size: Using thin nails on thick and heavy wood will lead to bending and breaking.
- Excessive air pressure: Too high pressure of pneumatic nailers will damage the nails.
Maintain equipment and use qualified matched coil nails, and you will effectively avoid common faults.
